As news comes of the renewal of USA Network’s hit series Suits for an eighth season, also comes confirmation that Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) and Meghan Markle will leave the series following the season seven finale.
Show creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh is set to return, as are stars Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter), Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) and newly-minted series regular Dulé Hill (Alex Williams).
Suits: Season 7B will premiere on Wednesday, March 28th (9/8C); the two-hour seventh season finale will air on Wednesday, April 25th.
USA Network has announced the premiere dates for five fall shows – two dramas and three alternative (reality) shows, including its new drama series Damnation – which follows a bloody battle set in the 1930s as the fight between rich and poor escalates, centering on a preacher and the new strikebreaker in town.
Aslo included: the third season premiere of Mr. Robot; Chrisley Knows Best, Season 5.5; the series premiere of According to Chrisley, and The Cromarties (a former NFLer tries to impose an NFL-style coaching system in raising his family’s children).
The Season 7 finale of Suits (USA Network, Wednesdays, 9/8C) will serve as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff that would see Gina Torres’ Jessica Pearson ‘be forced to enter the dirty world of Chicago politics.’
‘Pearson must rely on her legal wits and valiant relationships from Pearson Specter Litt to navigate this unknown territory.’
USA Network has announced that a Psych Christmas movie is in the works – and the whole cast is returning!
Psych: The Movie picks up three years after the end of the show’s eighth and final season – Shawn(James Roday), Gus (Dulé Hill), Lassiter (Timothy Omundson), Juliet (Maggie Lawson), Henry (Corbin Bernsen) and Chief Vick (Kirsten Nelson) come together during the holidays after a mystery assailant targets one of their own.
Will there be pineapples? What do you think?
Series creator Steve Franks and Roday co-wrote Psych: The Movie – which is set for a December premiere.
Hulu and NBC Universal have reached an agreement that will allow Hulu to include top channels – NBC, Sfyf, USA Network, Telemundo and more – on their upcoming live TV streaming service when it launches this spring.
Ok, I generally like to wait a season before I commit to recapping a show. I binge watched Colony over the holidays, so now I’m into it. In case you didn’t know Colony is basically V-The Miniseries without the aliens being at the forefront. It’s an alien invasion story without the aliens. It asks the question what would people do under these circumstances. Do you become a collaborator or try and resist? If you resist how do you do it? Season 2 returned to USA Network this week. At the end of the season everyone was left in a precarious place at the end of last season I’m pretty curious to see where season 2 is going. Colony airs on USA Network Thursday nights at 10pm.
