During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Elegantly Grotesque Trailer: The Snowman!

‘You could have saved them. I gave you all the clues,’ reads a note that appears early on in the first trailer for The Snowman – based on the bestselling mystery novel by Jo Nesbo.

When a woman is killed at first snow, Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender) fears it marks the return of a notorious serial killer.

The trailer is unsettling in its sere elegant grotesqueness (a snowman near the end is particularly unnerving).

The Snowman will be in theaters on October 20th.

Not only does Alien: Covenant have a strong female protagonist in Katherine Waterston’s Daniels, it also has a new poster that looks like a hellish co-production between Hieronymus Bosch and original Alien designer, H.R. Giger.

Alien: Covenant, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride, opens May 19.

The crew of the colony ship Covenant find a virtual paradise – there’s even wheat growing there (‘What are the odds…?’ asks one crew member).

Then another notices something really odd – there’s no sounds of living creatures – no birds or anything…

Alien: Covenant premieres on May 19th.

It’s Not Déja Vu If You Haven’t Actually Been There Trailer: Alien: Covenant!

The first trailer for Alien: covenant seems to be merging the ‘haunted house in space’ feel of Alien with the action/horror sensibility of Aliens. Intriguing.

Alien: Covenant will be in theaters on May 19th.

Assassin’s Creed Is Awful!

Callum Lynch wakes up the morning after his execution to discover he’s the essential part of a plan to travel back in through – through an ancestor’s memories – to locate the Apple of Eden for the contemporary Templars. In doing so, he learns that that ancestor was an assassin, tasked with keeping the Apple out of the Templars’ hands at all costs.

Assassin’s Creed is a jumbled mess of a movie that ties to achieve a mystical conclusion via a quasi-scientific means – and fails spectacularly.
