Dean and his father, Robert, are having a bit of a crisis. Dean’s mother/Robert’s wife has died and neither of them quiet knows how to deal with their grief.
For Dean, an answer might be a job in Los Angeles; for Robert, it might be selling their home in New York City. In each case, they’ve lost their normal and have to try to find a new one.
Dean is written and directed by Demetri Martin, who plays Dean. Also starring are: Kevin Kline, Gillian Jacobs, Mary Steenburgen, Reid Scott, Rory Scovel, Christine Woods, Ginger Gonzaga, Peter Scolari and Briga Heelan.
Dean will be in theaters on June 2nd.

The new trailer for Paramount’s Ghost in the Machine has a lot of new footage. It looks like pretty dazzling stuff, with the Major’s confrontations with a cyber-terrorist suggesting that there’s more to her story than she remembers. Also, lots of cool action!

A few days ago, we posted a trailer for a movie called Girls Trip – the tale of four women going on a vacation trip together and getting into all kinds of mischief.
It was an okay trailer – there were a few laughs – but, truth to tell, it felt a little weak. Turns out, that’s because it was a heavily cut/censored trailer for an R-rated comedy.
The red band trailer was released today and it is like the sun came out. Bear in mind that the following trailer is very NSFW.

The first trailer for Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled has been released.
The film, adapted from Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name, relates events that follow when a wounded Union soldier is discovered near The Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies and taken in.

For the first time, Canadian viewers of the Super Bowl did not have to suffer through the less inspired local commercials that are edited into the game up here in the Cold White North (-9 Fahrenheit).
But most of my favorite ads were for upcoming movies and television shows and there were some corkers.
