Apparently, I’m one of the few people in the entire world who liked the first season of Marvel’s Iron Fist – more than Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I recognize the main flaw of the series was the lead character himself Danny Rand (Iron Fist) played by a sort of vacant Finn Jones, but I’m not sure what people expected out this series. The character has never been a top tier Marvel hero and has always been pretty weird and introspective, so the show captured that aspect fairly well. What made Season One work for me were all the side stories and the family dynamic between Rand and his childhood friends Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) and her brother Harold Meachum (David Wenham).

One of Netflix’s biggest hits, Daredevil: The Complete First Season arrives on Blu-ray November 8th just in time for the holidays! The Blu-ray will include all 13 episodes of it’s groundbreaking first season. The question is why bother? It’s available on Netflix, because, um, it’s a Netflix Original and it’s available in 4K on Netflix. I know most of you don’t give a crap about 4k, but since I have a 4k TV, I do. Other annoying thing is, it’s only Season One when if they are going to release this, at least give us both seasons in one nice package. There are no announced extras. However, my negativism aside I’m still going to ask the studio to send me a copy! Hey, it’s Daredevil!

Marvel has announced the addition of Scott Glenn (The Leftovers) to the cast of its Netflix series Daredevil – as Matt Murdock’s mentor, Stick.
Glenn has accumulated a wealth of genre cred throughout his career and, especially in 1982’s The Challenge (a criminally underrated martial arts/noir from John Frankenheimer), has shown himself to be quite capable of being believably in action sequences). The role of Stick should fit him like a glove. Follow the jump for more.
