Pinocchio Bonus Clips from Upcoming Blu-ray

Pinocchio is out on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere This Week. To celebrate check out these new bonus clips from the early days of Disney Animation that show Walt Disney’s process while creating Pinocchio! You can download it today. Have I said lately how much I adore Disney Movies Anywhere? Buy it once and it shows up on almost all Digital services including Ultraviolet, iTunes, Microsoft, PSN Network, Amazon and Google!  The really cool thing is the extras are always included as well. I wish ALL studios would do this. Sick of having to choose between services. Disney gets mad props for going a step beyond in the way they treat their fans. Yes, I’m saying all of this because I expect my free review copy :).  But come on Disney, 4K Man, 4K!  Check out the clips.  Pinocchio is out on Blu-ray™ and DVD on Jan. 31.

Pinocchio Comes to Blu-ray! I wouldn’t Lie! Maybe.

Disney’s timeless tale Pinocchio, considered one of the greatest animated films ever made with two Academy Awards, joins the Walt Disney Signature Collection. Now it will delight a whole new generation of dreamers with its masterful animation, unforgettable characters and award-winning music. The movie which inspired the world to wish upon a star, arrives for the first time on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Jan. 10, and on Blu-ray™ and DVD on Jan. 31 with hours of new and classic bonus features. When is Disney jumping on the 4K UHD bandwagon? Nevermind, I’d probably be salty to discover none of my Disney Movies Anywhere content will “automatically upgrade” to UHD quality anyway.

Daredevil The Complete First Season Comes to Blu-ray and the world asks Why?

daredevilbluray

One of Netflix’s biggest hits, Daredevil: The Complete First Season arrives on Blu-ray November 8th just in time for the holidays! The Blu-ray will include all 13 episodes of it’s groundbreaking first season.  The question is why bother? It’s available on Netflix, because, um, it’s a Netflix Original and it’s available in 4K on Netflix. I know most of you don’t give a crap about 4k, but since I have a 4k TV, I do. Other annoying thing is, it’s only Season One when if they are going to release this, at least give us both seasons in one nice package. There are no announced extras. However, my negativism aside I’m still going to ask the studio to send me a copy! Hey, it’s Daredevil!

DVD Review: Quantico The Complete First Season DVD

Quantico The Complete First Season

ABC’s Quantico was one of the few breakout hits that came out of 2015’s season of trainwrecks. So it’s baffling to me that the folks at ABC Home Video went cheap and only release the amazing S1 on DVD but not give us crisp Blu-ray set. The show is beautifully shot and standard definition does it a disservice. Quantico The Complete First Season on DVD hits the streets 09/12/16.

Disney’s The Jungle Book Comes Home this month and Re-Released in iMax!

JungleBook

It seems like this film just came out last month. I’m not complaining about shorter release windows, but this seems scary fast! But hey, it was April, this summer has blown by.

Audiences were mesmerized by Disney’s live-action epic adventure “The Jungle Book,” which has earned more than $949 million at the global box office to date.  Critically acclaimed, Jon Favreau’s stunning live-action reimagining of Walt Disney’s animated classic, will be available early on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 23, and on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand on August 30.  Where’s my 4K HDR version?

Carrie 40th Anniversary Blu-ray Features new 4K Scan! Coming in Oct!

Carrie

Carrie, the classic Brian DePalma horror film celebrates it’s 40th anniversary with a brand new Blu-ray package from the fine folks at Shout factory. The new package is going to feature an upgraded 4K scan so the picture should look amazing. I can say this because I just picked up a new 4K TV today and a movie like Carrie should really shine with the deep black levels that 4K produces.

The Witch Blu-ray Review

TheWitchBluRay

Horror films have made a big come back in the last few years. At Cinemacon this year, every studio presentation featured at least 2 new upcoming horror films. The Witch goes back. Way back to the 1600s when puritans ruled a small New England town. A family falls into the clutches of dark forces. The film is a creepy take on old school witch craft and exorcisms. At its heart though it’s about how circumstances can tear even the most devout of families apart. Is it religion gone wrong or there something truly evil in the woods?
