Juice Packs a Wallop Even After 25 Years!

Ernest Dickerson’s first film, Juice (power or influence, earned respect) – a kind of urban noir – follows four longtime friends as they try to survive their lives in Harlem.

The four leads were either high school kids of seventeen, or just a bit older – Omar Epps, Jermaine Hopkins, Khalil Kain, and (before he ever recorded a note) Tupac Shakur.

The Juice 25th Anniversary Blu-ray is in stores today.

Disney Screws Beauty and the Beast Fans over with Blu-ray Store Exclusives

Disney’s juggernaut Beauty and The Beast is coming home to Blu-ray next week – June 6th. Of course there are a million exclusive editions! Steelbook version at Best Buy that’s $29 (are you kidding me?), a Target exclusive that includes a 32 page book and blah, blah. Come on Disney, stop screwing people. If I can’t get a full proper packaged version from ANY store, without feeling like I’m missing out on something, then screw them, I’ll just get the digital version and call it a day. I’m not jumping through hoops for this. I’m sure I probably won’t get my customary free copy after they read this. But honestly, Disney, you know I love you, but stop pulling this stupid crap.

Supergirl and Gotham Blu-ray Release Dates Announced

I love me some Gotham. It’s a messy show that’s hard to defend, but that’s precisely why I like it. Can people stop whining about the fact that Batman isn’t in it and accept that this is an elseworld’s version of Gotham and has nothing to do with “canon?” Whatever “canon” even means these days.

I wasn’t as enamored with this season of Supergirl as I was last year. After a strong start, I thought this years theme of literal “alienation,” got a bit tired. However I still love the cast and its upbeat tone is a refreshing change from all the other overly serious Superhero shows.  Gotham: The Complete Third Season arrives on Blu-ray & DVD starting August 29, 2017 and Supergirl: The Complete Second Season comes to Blu-ray & DVD on August 22, 2017. Where are my 4K TV Season releases? Gah. That’s right, I’m never satisfied.
