On December 10th, Twin Peaks fans will be able to get even deeper into David Lynch’s unique series than ever before.
Twin Peaks: Z to A will include the entire series (including A Limited Event Series and Fire Walk with Me) plus a new interview with Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee and Behind the Curtain – new 25-minute (non-linear) behind-the-scenes featurettes on all 18 episodes of A Limited Event Series – plus all previously released bonus material.
As a hurricane tears through Florida, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) rushes to find her father (Barry Pepper), who is injured and trapped in the crawl space of their home. With the storm intensifying and water levels rising, the pair face an even bigger threat lurking below the surface.
Crawl will be available on Digital on September 24; Blu-ray combo pack on October 15th.
As the song goes, “Oh a happy day. Oh, happy day!” One of my dream 4K UHD releases was announced today – The Wizard of Oz is getting a 4K UHD Release on Digital and 4K UHD Combo Pack on October 29th! There’s nothing about the BS 2 week window, so I’m hoping this truly will be both formats will release on the same day. I’m so tired of having to wait 2 weeks for the physical release.
Beyond the fact that The Wizard of OZ is probably in my top 4 favorite films of all time, it’s also very colorful and had frame by frame restoration done a few years ago and already looks fantastic on Blu-ray so it should look stunning in 4K HDR. Also of note, it will support Dolby Vision HDR. This time they are using an 8K, 16 bit scan. Wow. All of this goodness is going to come at an astounding $42 price tag. Really Warner Home Video? This better be a glorious full screen presentation.
Ok, I’ve never stated this publicly but I LOVE WB’s Cinderella movies. I’m a romantic at heart and the cheesier the story the better, which explains my love of Christmas movies. So here you combine Christmas Rom-Com with the Cinderella Story franchise and it’s an instant win for me. A Cinderella Story: A Christmas Wish is the 5 the fifth movie in Warner Brother’s Cinderella Franchise which has featured Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez and Lucy Hale. Wait, 5th? There’s a 4th movie out there that I somehow missed. Need to look this up stat!
Update – I wasn’t kidding about watching the 4th movie – A Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits. My god, the horror. The first 3 movies are like Citizen Kane to this dreck. Turned it off after 20 minutes. It’s unwatchable. Here’s hoping the series is returned to form with the upcoming installment.
What up home sickles. I hate myself, even though I per-ordered the 4K UHD version of Avengers: Endgame, I couldn’t help myself. I still purchased the 4K UHD version on Vudu. I checked out all the extra features and spot checked the Video and Audio Quality. The full video review is below along with some clips. I will have a full 4K UHD Review for you in a few weeks. Problem with doing reviews of streaming quality is, it’s very much dependent on the quality of your internet connection. So my experience streaming this may be different than yours.
I don’t know why people would buy a Blu-ray of a TV Show that’s available on their respective streaming service and this coming from someone who just had to buy a new $500 4K UHD Player. But the critically acclaimed DC Universe series Doom Patrol is coming to Blu-ray, this fall. October 1st to be exact with the Digital release coming August 26th. The set will include all 15 season one episodes and a boatload of extras for $29.99
One of the most popular horror films of 2019, Jordan Peele’s US starring Academy Award® winner Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther, 12 Years a Slave), Winston Duke (Black Panther), Emmy® winner Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Mad Men”) and Tim Heidecker (The Comedy, “Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories”) hits home on Digital June 4th and the tasty physical media June 18th. Ok, the whole two week delay between Digital and Physical releases really ticks me off and is just irritating. Check out the official press release to see all the tasty extras.
Warner Home Entertainment announced Arrow Season 7 will hit Blu-ray on August 20th and the Flash Season 5 will arrive a week later. Both sets will include the full 3 episode Elseworlds crossover and include a boatload of extras including tons of featurettes, episode specific commentaries, a preview of the upcoming Crisis event and digital code (nothing drives me crazier than TV Series that don’t include the digital copy). Both sets will retail for $45 bucks in the US. Not a bad price but both shows were just $10 on Apple iTunes last week.
