Dark Horse to Expand on Stranger Things Universe!

Dark Horse and Netflix have announced a strange new partnership that will allow the publisher to expand on the hit Netflix show’s universe with a multi-year publishing line.

The first title from the new line will be a four-issue series that ‘follows Will Byers as he enters a dimension of decay and destruction where he must use his wits and resolve to dodge the pursuit of the Demogorgon and escape the Upside Down.’

Written by Jody Hauser – with art by Stefan Martino and Keith Champagne – Stranger Things #1 will be in store in September.

First Wave of Nominees Announced for Teen Choice 2018!

The first wave of nominees for Teen Choice 2018 has been announced – and it should make network TV (and especially The CW) very happy.

While the movie categories are filled with titles like Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, many TV noms go to Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Riverdale.

Teen Choice 2018 will be broadcast by FOX on Sunday, August 12th, live from The Forum in Los Angeles.

Stranger Things Gets After Show!

Stranger Things is getting an after show, hosted by Community’s ex-dean, Jim Rash. Beyond Stranger Things will feature guests – co-creators  the Duffer Brothers, members of the cast and special surprise guests.

How does that even work on Netflix (I hear you ask)?

After you binge watch all nine episodes of Stranger Things 2, then you can binge watch Beyond Stranger Things. All seven episodes of Beyond Stranger Things premiere on Netflix on October 27th.

Westworld, SNL Dominate 2017 Emmy Nominations!

The 2017 Emmy Awards Nominations were announced this morning and there were some noticeable absences – Game of Thrones, Orphan Black and Twin Peaks were not eligible.

Even without Game of Thrones, HBO still collected 110 nominations, while Netflix nabbed 91 – and on a surprising note, Saturday Night Live and This Is Us led NBC to 60 nominations.

In terms of series noms, Westworld and Saturday Night Live each took 22 noms, while FX’s FEUD: Bette and Joan and Netflix’s Stranger Things netted 18 apiece. Veep remained hot with 17 noms, while Big Little Lies and Fargo each earned 16.

Nominees Announced for the 2017 Television Critics Association Awards!

The nominees for the 2017 TCA (Television Critics Association) Awards have been announced and with Game of Thrones not eligible this year, some interesting things have happened in the Outstanding Achievement In Drama category – with Stranger Things and This Is Us receiving nominations (both also received nominations for Outstanding New Series).

On the comedy side, Atlanta and The Good Place also pulled off the double-double with nominations for Outstanding New Series and Outstanding Achievement In Comedy.

In terms of total noms, HBO led with an even dozen – but FX (11) and Netflix (10) kept it from being a walkover, and The Handmaid’s Tale got Hulu on the board with four.
