After a couple of decent trailers that actually withheld most of the film’s funniest moments, Ghostbusters arrives with wit, charm, lovable goofiness, some serious melodrama and comes thisclose to being as good as the original.
The all-female Ghostbusters (and their dumber than a sack of flying mallets male receptionist) are worthy successors to Ivan Reitman’s original.
Both Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man put in appearances in the new trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, but the the really big deal is that we have to talk about Kevin – Chris Hemsworth steals this trailer!
Check it out after the jump. Ghostbusters opens on July 15th.
The Boss stars Melissa McCarthy as Michelle Darnell – the 47th wealthiest woman in America. When she’s found guilty of insider trading, her empire crumbles – and is swept up by her business rival (and ex-boyfriend), Renault.
On her release, she’s forced to live with regular folks – her former assistant, Claire and her daughter Rachel – but she happens upon some of Claire’s brownies and looks to them to be the foundation of her comeback.
Michelle Darnell is ‘a titan of industry’ – until she’s convicted of insider trading and goes to prison. When she gets out, she discovers that there’s money to be made in Dandelion Cookies…
Melissa McCarthy is Michelle Darnell in The Boss and yes, the first trailer is a green band trailer – that makes me fear any attempt at a red band trailer. Check it out after the jump. The Boss opens on April 8, 2016.
Melissa McCarthy has shown she can play a character (Saint Vincent, everyone!), which is why Spy is so much fun. In Susan Cooper, CIA super analyst she’s found a character – and a potential franchise – that she can really sink her teeth into.
Also, for a spoof to work it must also succeed in the genre it’s spoofing – and Spy works as a spy movie.
St. Vincent is a film that tells a story that we’ve seen many times before – a curmudgeonly older guy rediscovers life because of the influence of a child, while teaching that child about life. The difference between St. Vincent and those many other similarly plotting movies is that this film has a cast that includes Bill Murray.
