BOOM! Studios today announced that the first-ever Firefly comic book letter column will launch in FIREFLY #1, arriving in comic shops on November 14th.
Fans are encouraged to send their e-mails with their questions and thoughts about the iconic worldwide pop culture phenomenon’s return to comic books to firstname.lastname@example.org with a nice, shiny “okay to print” in each e-mail.
The final instalment of BOOM Studios’ #MalCrushMonday is three pages of full-color art from the upcoming Firefly #1, written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Dan McDaid.
Firefly #1 will be in comics shops in November. The day will also include the release of Firefly: Legacy Edition Book One (collecting previously released Serenity comics for the first time under one cover) and Firefly Big Damn Heroes Box.
When BOOM! Studios’ Firefly #1 appears in comics shops in November, it will feature a number of variant covers – the latest to be unveiled is a portrait of Malcolm Reynolds by legendary artist Bill Sienkiewicz (below)
BOOM! Studios has unveiled a second variant cover (below) – by renowned artist J.G. Jones (Final Crisis) – for the premiere issue of its upcoming Firefly series by Greg Pak and Dan McDaid.
The series tells the tale of the crew of the spaceship Serenity – and how Mal’s actions during the War of Unification have put him and Zoe on a list of war criminals being hunted by the Unificators – mercenaries hired to track down war criminals.
Once a year, giant robots from outer space come to Earth and bond with young cadets from the elite Sky Corps Academy to defend the world from the terrifying aliens known as the Sharg. It’s a great honor to be chosen, but this year…well, the wrong kid was picked.
That’s the premise of BOOM! Studios’ new series Mech Cadet Yu, which follows Stanford Yu – that wrong kid.
The series is by Greg Pak (Totally Awesome Hulk) and Takeshi Miyazawa (Ms. Marvel, Runaways). The first issue will in comics shops in August.
