Earlier today, Warner Bros. dropped the final trailer for Justice League.
It still has the kind of ponderous feel of a Zack Snyder film, but is leavened with some very potent humor (personally, I’m going to see Justice League for Aquaman’s somewhat flip attitude and zest for battle, alongside The Flash’s geeky awe and enthusiasm).
Warner Bros. Pictures unleashed (and that is the correct word) a new Justice League trailer at SDCC 2017 earlier today.
It sets up Steppenwolf as the villain (has the invasion from Apokalips begun?) and gives us a really good look at our heroes – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash (Aquaman’s moment is particularly invigorating).
How long has it been since we’ve seen a brilliant, completely unironic superhero movie? 2011’s Captain America: First Avenger. Before that? Probably Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie (1978)/Richard Lester & Donner’s Superman II (1980).
To that remarkable (and remarkably short) list we can add Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman.
Following hard on the heels of yesterday’s release of the first poster for Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. brought the first trailer for the film to the Con today.
The trailer shows Princess Diana discovering Steve Trevor washed up on the shores of Themiscyra and quick moves through her arrival in Man’s World and its levels (poor fishing village, glittering party) before finding herself in the middle of WWI.
It looks amazing! See for yourselves – it unfolds just after the break.
