Atomic Blonde Is Bloody, Glorious Fun!

Atomic Blonde may not be as supple, flexible and dynamic is its lead, but still punches above its head in odd and intriguing ways.

To begin with, the action set pieces feel like they could have been part of a John Wick movie. Then there’s the feeling you get watching Charlize Theron – if she’s not having fun in this film, I will eat my shirt. And finally, there’s the two timelines running parallel to each other.

The teaser closes with this tagline, ‘Deadpool. Coming. Not Soon Enough.’ Looks like the Deadpool sequel won’t be getting serious any time soon. (Hallelujah!)

Why would we go to see yet another hitman comes out of retirement to wreak vengeance movie?

Because it takes the reliable (okay, maybe overused) trope and reinvigorates it with style, a degree of wit and a unique world with unusual details. Also, Keanu Reeves at his best.
