Tonight, on Awake [NBC, 10/9C], a mistake Detective Michael Britten made years ago comes back to haunt him as an escaped convict kidnaps Britten’s son, Rex – to force Britten to prove his innocence!

On Tuesday, series co-stars Laura Allen and Dylan Minnette took part in a conference call with a group of journalists/bloggers. They talked about the series so far, and tonight’s ep in particular.

Awake Is This Season’s Best New Show!

It seems that all the major networks saved their best shows for mid-season. In the case of NBC, they were holding back the season’s best new series, Awake [Thursdays, 10/9C] – a startlingly intelligent show about a police detective who is living two lives – in two worlds – simultaneously.

Awake Creator and Showrunner Talk About This Season’s Best New Series!

Awake [NBC, Thursdays, 10/9C]is a unique new series that revolves around a police detective who is in an automobile accident with his wife and son. When he awakens, it is to discover that his son has died – but when he goes to sleep, the next time he opens his eyes, he is in a world where it’s his wife who died. In each world, he has a partner and a therapist – making for two separate casts of characters and two crimes to be investigated each week. And then stuff begins to bleed from one world to the other.

Is the show about parallel universes? A real world and a dream world? Awake’s creator Kyle Killen [Lone Star] and fellow executive producer Howard Gordon [Homeland, 24] spoke to a number of journalists/bloggers and talked about just that – and, of course, a whole lot more.

Detective Michael Britten survives a horrible car accident only to discover he is now trapped in two alternate realities – one where is son has died and his wife survived and another reality that is the opposite. But as he tries to do his job and solve murders, he finds the clues from a murder in one reality, bleeds into the other.  Michael desperately  tries to hold onto his sanity while living in two separate worlds with his beloved wife and son.

Community Headlines NBC’s Spring Lineup!

There’s great news for fans of NBC’s cult hit series Community – it’s returning to the network’s schedule as of March 15th. Also coming are two new sitcoms, Bent [March 21st] and Best Friends Forever [April 4th], as well as Punk’d-by-seniors reality series Betty White’s Off Their Rockers [April 4th].

NBC’s Wednesday and Thursday night schedules will be altered by these additions. Details from the NBC press release follow the jump.
