British comics publisher 2000 AD will be hosting a panel on the history and politics of Judge Dredd at New York Comic-Con 2017. The publisher will also hold autograph sessions with Jock, Lee Garbett, Rob Williams and Arthur Wyatt.
New York Comic Con takes place October 5th – 8th at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.
2000 Ad is 40 today – that’s forty years of continuous weekly publication!
The UK’s most popular comic, 2000 AD has introduced such legendary characters as Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog and Halo Jones – and such legendary creators as Alan Moore, Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar, and Simon Bisley.
It has inspired the likes of filmmakers Duncan Jones, Edgar Wright, Christopher Nolan, Joe Cornish, and Alex Garland; actors Simon Pegg and Karl Urban, and writers from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett to Alistair Reynolds an Lauren Beukes.
To mark the occasion, a special 40th anniversary issue has been released that features work by many of the all-star talents the comic has introduced to the world.
AD2000 and Scramble are teaming up to give Dredd fans and martial artists something unique: Judge Dredd martial arts wear.
2000 AD and Scramble are pleased to announce a new range of licensed martial arts clothing and compression wear which draws on the rich history of the Judge Dredd universe – featuring classic images of the ultimate lawman himself to other characters such as Judge Anderson, The Simping Detective, and more.
The Dredd line of martial arts clothing will be available through dedicated stores in the UK and the America.
When you arrive at your local comics shop for Free Comic Book Day in 2016, you might forgiven if you were to think that something cool was missing.
The Powers That Be that decide what companies can participate in the annual event that brings in new readers every year, has decided that Judge Dredd is bad company. Rebellion Publishing, the publisher of Dredd, 2000 AD and many more excellent, if dark, comics has not been invited to the ball.
Everyone’s favorite fascist, Judge Dredd, is having his 25th Anniversary. 2000AD is releasing Judge Dredd Megazine #365 with a special cover by Barry Kitson (above) featuring Dredd – having disposed of a myriad of past foes – looking to the future and the taking down of many, many more.

Have you ever had a dream that haunted you? One that stayed with you long after you had awakened?
That’s the origin of a new series from 2000 AD by Dave Kendall – whose dream of the Dark Judges from Judge Dredd has resulted in a new series: Dreams of Deadworld.
Dreams of Deadworld features Dredd’s four post-mortem judges: Judge Death, Judge Mortis, Judge Fire and Judge Fear. Intriguing, right? Written by Kek-W and with fully painted art by Kendall, Dreams of Deadworld will appear in 2000 AD Prog 1946 on September 2nd.

Judge Dredd (pictured above with fellow 2000 AD stalwart, Strontium Dog) co-creator Carlos Ezquerra is one of Comic-Con 2015’s Guests of Honor and 2000 AD will be hosting a Spotlight On Carlos Ezquerra panel to discuss his work over a long and illustrious career. Ezquerra will also be signing at the 2000 AD booth.
Also in attendance will be Andy Diggle and Jock.
