Without a lot of preamble here are my favorite games of 2009. I will say this has been a pretty good year for games and the first time in years that I was determined to complete most of the games that I started and in the case of Uncharted II and Heavy Rain, I’m glad I stuck with them because both games were a painful slog the first 4 or 5 hours of playtime then they really picked up.

In my haste to make my list, I neglected two of my favorite games of 2009. Assassin’s Creed II and Wolfenstein.
Peggle Nights
Puzzle Quest
Watchmen End is Nigh (Technically bad, but a lot of fun despite serious flaws)
Beatles Rockband
Band Hero (Band Hero Soley because of the Song Import Feature)
Assassin’s Creed II
Shadow Complex
Wolfenstein
Flower
Modern Warfare II
I love this game, but it feels too much like the original. Spec Ops and Multiplayer puts it on the list
Heavy Rain
It took a long time for me to get into this game, but once it sucked me in I was hooked. The same can be said of Uncharted II as well. Both of these games really tried my patience.
