The Magnificent Seven Gets 4K Ultra HD Release!

Antoine Fuqua’s remake of the classic western The Magnificent Seven is coming to home video and videophiles will pleased to see that the home video release will include a 4K Ultra HD package.

The story of seven hired guns who contract to protect a small town from an avaricious mining baron features an all-star cast that includes Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke.

The home video release encompasses 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray and DVD formats and will be in stores on December 20th. Read on for a more detailed synopsis and list of features for each format.

The Magnificent Seven – Fun But Not Quite Magnificent!

Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven is not the movie that the John Sturges one was and that’s okay. Fuqua has a lot of fun playing with the clichés/tropes of westerns and succeeds in producing a fun movie that is most notable for having a uniquely integrated Seven – and least notable for having a villain who is an unmodulated black hole of evil that sucks the energy out of almost every scene he’s in.

Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven is the opening day film for the Toronto International Film Festival and will premiere in theaters on September 23rd. The remake of the classic western stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke.

The Magnificent Seven Goes Big with Global IMAX Release!

The Magnificent Seven will give BIG stars when it premieres on September 23rd – the film is getting a global IMAX release.

The announcement came from  IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX), Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and Sony Pictures Entertainment today.

The remake of the classic Western stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke – and is directed by Antoine Fuqua. Follow the jump for more.

Now, Antoine Fuqua has assembled a pretty decent team – including Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke – to tell the story of seven gunslingers, ne’er do wells and grifters to save Rose Creek from being controlled by a ruthless industriallst.
