This season April saw her Cancer go into remission, finally got married to Leo (Scott Michael Foster), then her cancer came back, find out secrets about her father and lose Leo. It’s been a real roller coaster season. I had a quick call (meaning 5 mins, so of course I didn’t ask everything that I wanted 2) with Italia and talked about this season.
ABC Family’s Chasing Life is one of my top 10 favorite shows at the moment. The show follows the Carver family as they struggle through their 20 something daughters struggle to fight and survive cancer. The show is about how having cancer impacts not only the patient but all those around the patient. Chasing Life Airs on ABC Family, Mondays night.
Chasing Life has quickly become one of my weekly go to shows and as usual ABC Family has yanked a program off the air with a ridiculously long two and three month breaks. The pauses aren’t as bad now thanks to their 25 Days of Christmas promotion that features holiday themed episodes of all our favorite programs.
Here’s a promo for this week’s episode of Chasing Life. I think when the show returns, after it’s summer break, I’m going to have to start recapping it when part 2 launches in the winter. It’s quickly become one of the few shows of the summer that I really look forward to every week.
This week, various secrets come out and we start to see some of the fallout as April prepares for her first Chemo treatment. Up until now the show has remained surprisingly light considering its serious topic, but I suspect things will go dark when it comes back. Two more episodes until it goes away until the winter. Have I said recently how much I HATE how ABC Family’s schedules shows? Chasing Life airs Tuesday nights on ABC Family.
I was addicted to Switched At Birth for the first three seasons, but got out of the habit due to ABC Family’s god awful scheduling and penchant for pulling shows off the air for months at a time.
My new obsessions are The Fosters – a great little show with heart and their Tuesday night cancer drama Chasing Life. I was a little skeptical about getting involved with ABC Family again since they rip out my heart EVERY SINGLE TIME by not giving shows a chance to grow. I’m hoping they stick with The Fosters and Chasing Life but I seriously doubt they will. I refuse to go down the Pretty Little Liars circle jerk rabbit hole.
Three new series and three returnees highlight ABC Families Summer 2014 schedule. Joining Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth and The Fosters will be Chasing Life, Young & Hungry and Mystery Girls. Chasing Life will follow PLL on June 10th; Switched at Birth and The Fosters will return on June 16th, and Young and Hungry will premiere on June 25th.
