There’s something about Laika. They make animated films (Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls) that are for the whole family, yet never feel like they’re either talking down to children or talking over their heads – while providing plenty of substance for adult viewers.
Kubo and The Two Strings looks like it could be another instant classic with its vaguely origami-like animation and epic quest. Kubo, guided by the magically created Monkey, seeking out his father’s armor to save his village and solve the mystery of his missing father.
