Atomic Blonde Is Bloody, Glorious Fun!

Atomic Blonde may not be as supple, flexible and dynamic is its lead, but still punches above its head in odd and intriguing ways.

To begin with, the action set pieces feel like they could have been part of a John Wick movie. Then there’s the feeling you get watching Charlize Theron – if she’s not having fun in this film, I will eat my shirt. And finally, there’s the two timelines running parallel to each other.

Kubo and the Two Strings Is Laika’s Best Film Yet!

Kubo Banner

Kubo and the Two Strings is a genuinely amazing film. It’s a story of family on both an intimate and mythic level. It’s also absolutely gorgeous to look at.

If not for the Pixar release Zootopia, it would be almost certainly a lock for this year’s best animated film Oscar®.

Glorious Trailer: Kubo and The Two Strings!

There’s something about Laika. They make animated films (Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls) that are for the whole family, yet never feel like they’re either talking down to children or talking over their heads – while providing plenty of substance for adult viewers.

Kubo and The Two Strings looks like it could be another instant classic with its vaguely origami-like animation and epic quest. Kubo, guided by the magically created Monkey, seeking out his father’s armor to save his village and solve the mystery of his missing father.

Check out the new trailer for Kubo and The Two Strins following the jump. it opens on August 19th.

Coldly Flashy Trailer: The Huntsman: Winter’s War!

Huntsman

‘If It’s the Snow White tale you’re looking for, discover the story that came before,’ says the narrator in the new trailer for The Huntsman: Winter’s War – the prequel to Snow white and the Huntsman.

Considering how little we wanted a follow-up to the first film, I have to say that this new trailer is more dark fun than I expected. Check it out after the jump. The Huntsman: Winter’s War opens on April 22nd.
