The annual benefit dinner capped a full day of celebrity advocacy on Capitol Hill in support of the arts in America with an exceptional evening of food and beverages helmed by STK DC chef Marc Hennessy. STK DC, FIJI Water, Maestro Dobel Tequila, and Blue Moon Brewing graciously supported the charity event.
Celebrity guests included Drake Bell (“Drake & Josh”), Tim Daly (“Private Practice”), Sean Giambrone (“The Goldbergs”), Jonathan Groff (Frozen), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), John Leguizamo (Ice Age), Rose McGowan (“Charmed”), Wendi McLendon-Covey (“The Goldbergs”, Bridesmaids), AnnaSophia Robb (“The Carrie Diaries”), Joe Morton (“Scandal”), Jeffrey Tambor (“Arrested Development”), Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”), Mae Whitman (“Parenthood”), and Constance Zimmer (“The Newsroom”) and other guests including E! News Talent Alicia Quarles and DC’s senator Paul Strauss.
Guests dined on the STK chopped salad (pickled pears, avocado, hearts of palm, spring peas with yuzu vinaigrette); striped bass, Amish chicken, and of course petite filet mignon with spinach and potato puree, with an almond fudge brownie topped with white and gold chocolate ribbons for dessert. Signature cocktails featured the Dobel Tequila™ Black Diamond Margarita rimmed with Hawaiian black sea salt; orange-garnished beers from Blue Moon Brewing Company, Landmark and Justin wines, and FIJI Water, the #1 imported premium bottled water brand.
Overheard: The evening started with Forbes business writer Perianne Boring (“Boring Economics”) ambushing the red carpet, channeling her best Olivia Munn. Rose McGowan told a guest, “I made my fist publicist a stud. In fact, I made ALL my publicists studs. The men, anyway.” Constance Zimmer said, “Gray’s Anatomy?” All anyone wants to talk about here is “House of Cards.” She later gave AnnaSophia Robb and Mae Whitman hair tips in the bathroom. Joe Morton joked to the host, “Don’t believe everything you see on TV,” about his vicious character on “Scandal.” Emile Hirsch chatted up AnnaSophia Robb. Alicia Quarles helped close the event down, taking photos of the splendid room and girls dancing, promising to plug the restaurant in an upcoming segment. She said she would mention STK DC in her upcoming E! News segment covering White House Correspondents’ Weekend.
