Ben Silverman announced this morning that he was leaving his position as Co-Chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment to join Barry Diller’s media and Internet company, IAC, to start up a new venture.
Almost simultaneously, NBC announced that Jeff Gaspin, head of NBCU’s cable operations would step into the Chairman position, combining Silverman’s duties with his own.
Silverman will stay with NBC through September to help Gaspin’s transition into his new position – and oversee the launch of NBC’s fall programming.
