The first season of Castlevania set up the story in mostly broad strokes – the Dracula Lucy relationship was more detailed while the introductions of Trevor Belmont, Tepes’ son Alucard and Speaker Sypha Benades were pretty basic.
Season two gives us backstory on the three, as well as that of two human characters – Isaac and Hector – who are helping Dracula in his war to exterminate humanity.

At New York Comic Con 2018, VIZ Media announced a release date for Castlevania: Season 1 on home video – December 4th (with pre-orders being taken now).
VIZ also announced the acquisition of two new properties: The Art of Neon Genesis Evangelion: 2007-2017 and the shojo manga series Daytime Shooting Star.
Both tiles will be released in Summer 2019. Details follow.

VIZ Media has acquired the rights to Castlevania: Season 1 for home media.
Inspired by the classic video game and written by Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Planetary), the Frederator Studios produced series follows the last of the disgraced Belmont clan, as he tries to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes.
