When I heard that Syfy had picked up the first two season of Lost Girl [Mondays, 10/9C], I was tickled pink. This is a series that has a fresh take on the supernatural world of the Fae – and a lead character/Chosen One who could’ve been the villain on any other show.

The Finder: Finding Its Feet, But Still Plenty Of Fun!
FOX’s The Finder [Thursdays, 9/8C] premieres this evening and, though cast changes have clearly resulted in a bit of unevenness, the series first episode, an Orphan Walks Into A Bar, has the kind of mix of breeziness and dark undercurrents that have its parent series, Bones, a hit.
Are You There Chelsea? Not Really!
NBC has been trying to turn their fortunes around by throwing things at the wall and hoping something will stick. Are You There Chelsea [Wednesdays, 8:30/7:30C] is a prime example. Like the network’s Whitney, it’s a crass, female-centric sitcom that is loosely based on the life if its creator, Chelsea Handler – and like Whitney, […]

Showtime’s House of Lies: The Truth According To Management Consultants!
House of Lies [Showtime, Sundays, 10/9C] paints a picture of management consultants that’s so rude, shrewd and, more than occasionally lewd that one suspects that there’s more than a little truth to their depiction.

Producers Guild of America Announces 2012 Awards Nominations for Movies and Television!
The 2012 Producers Guild nominees for movies include such previous award winners The Artist, The Help, and Hugo, while Terrence Malik’s The Tree of Life is curiously absent. Among the usual suspects in television drama and comedy are: A Modern Family, 30 Rock, Mad Men and [surprisingly, given its critical freefall this season] Dexter. A […]
American Horror Story Kills Its Season Finale!
Well, they did it. The cast and crew of American Horror Story [FX, Wednesdays, 10/9C] created a memorable, if uneven, season finale.
Steve Niles’ Remains: Chiller Adapts Niles’ Twisted Zombie Apocalypse Graphic Novel Without Losing A Beat!
Syfy’s sister network, Chiller has chosen an adaptation of Steve Niles’ original graphic novel Remains [Friday, 10/9C] as its first original movie. It’s a nifty take on the zombie apocalypse genre with a unique point of view and brisk, witty execution.
There Goes The Neighborhood – Howard Stern Is The New Judge On America’s Got Talent!
NBC announced this morning that shock jock Howard Stern will be the new judge for season seven of America’s Got Talent – for which, the show will move to New York. Even I, who loathe reality TV and the seemingly infinite number of ‘talent’ shows out there, might just have to check this out when […]
