First-Ever Digital Series To Receive Primetime Emmy® Nomination in Outstanding Variety Talk Series

Season 8, Episode 6: Jerry Seinfeld and John Oliver

This week on “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” Jerry Seinfeld and “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver liven up a dreary NYC day with a trip to the Allswell Café in a 1959 Triumph TR3.

Last Thursday, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” was nominated in Outstanding Variety Talk Series, garnering the first-ever digital series nomination in this category and the first time the show was nominated outside the short-form category.

The eighth season of the Emmy® nominated series is comprised of six episodes, with a new episode streaming every Thursday night. Other Season 8 guests include (not in air-order): comedienne Margaret Cho, actor J.B. Smoove, stand-up comic Jim Gaffigan, SNL creator Lorne Michaels and writer/producer of some of the biggest hit films, Judd Apatow.  “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” won the PGA Award for “Outstanding Digital Series.”  Sponsored by Acura, the series is executive produced by Jerry Seinfeld and Sony Picture’s Televisions Embassy Row.
