Adult Swim Orders New Season Of Childrens Hospital – STAT!

Adult Swim announced today it has greenlit a sixth season of the hilarious live-action comedy Childrens Hospital, the two-time Emmy®-winning series from creator/executive producer Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart). Shooting in Los Angeles, CA this summer, the new season of Childrens Hospital will premiere in 2015 on Adult Swim.

Childrens Hospital explores the emotional struggles and sexual politics of a group of doctors charged with healthy libidos. Their dedication to their personal lives is relentless, interrupted only by the occasional need to treat sick children. The show’s creative team is led by Corddry and fellow executive producers/writers Jonathan Stern (Burning Love, NTSF:SD:SUV::) and David Wain (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer, They Came Together).

“We’re placing the Childrens gang safely back in their hospital next season, having spent last season in Japan, so fans can expect the kind of tomfoolery that endeared them to Childrens Hospital back when they were youngsters,” said Corddry. “Stuff like absurdity, flights of fancy, hard-hitting fake drama, soft-hitting fake drama, farcical door slamming, partial nudity, classical jazz, 70-yard field goals, mustache rides, backwards messages, grooming tips … the whole shebang.”

An irreverent comedy with a twisted take on network medical dramas, Childrens Hospital is produced by Abominable Pictures, The Corddry Company and Warner Bros. Television Group’s Studio 2.0. It is distributed by Warner Bros. Television and is based upon the Webby Award–winning digital series that debuted on TheWB.com in 2008.

Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) is one of the entertainment industry’s most respected providers of original content, producing award-winning drama and comedy series for both broadcast network television and cable. WBTV is currently producing and distributing more than 30 primetime series, with multiple programs on each of the five broadcast networks, in addition to cable’s TNT, Adult Swim, HBO and Showtime.
