CinemaCon 2015 Showcase The Future of Movie Technology

In the past CinemaCon was so packed with studio events that I never had the chance to properly walk the show floor. On Tuesday, I realized that I actually had a 4 hour gap between presentations so I took a leisurely walk about the show room floor and discovered something. DMV movie theater owners need to step up their game. Most theaters in DC are over 15 years old and the age is showing.

#CinemaCon – Paramount Pictures Presentations Recap and the things I learned!

Paramount Pictures hosted CinemaCon’s annual “State of the Union” presentation where folks from the National Association of Theater Owners and Film Studios gather together to slap each other on the back for doing gang buster business. Apparently the film industry isn’t dead as it grossed over $30 billion worldwide last year and broke previous records. The presentation kicked off with a sizzle reel of all the top money making pictures from 2014. After a series of speeches and awards it was time for Paramount to come to play.

CinemaCon 2015 Preview – 10 Things to Look Forward To!

This weekend your fearless leader is making the annual sojourn to Vegas. I’m flying a red eye on Frontier Air – it’s going to be fine, it’s going to be fine. If I say it enough I’ll believe it. It’s going to be fine…. Who am I kidding; Frontier Air sucks monkey balls. Only the annual National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) convention CinemaCon can get me on Frontier again. CinemaCon is where Movie Theater Owners get together and celebrate their love of movies (as well as whine) directly to the studios. Considering everyone talks about the death of the industry, there are more and more fancier theaters coming to my area – not soon enough and most are too far away. There will be studio presentations, partaaaays, and some cool interviews.
