Announced today, BBC AMERICA will make its inaugural appearance at @SXSW with the @BBCAMERICA Roadhouse (Brush Sq Park, E 4th & Trinity) on March 8 and 9. The channel’s line-up of events include a night of British music featuring Frank Turner (@fthc) and Skinny Lister (@SkinnyLister) and hosted by television presenter Georgie Okell (@GeorgieOkell), a Friday night set by DJ Mel (@DJMel), Six Nations Rugby viewing party and an Eclectic Method (@EclecticMethod) tribute to 50 years of the iconic television series Doctor Who. Texas native DJ Mel, known for packing in crowds at his long-running parties, brings the party to @BBCAMERICA’s Roadhouse. A recent gig for the Austin-based DJ was spinning President Obama’s Inaugural Ball in January.
