Comulsive, Unnerving Luther Returns for Limited Series!

Let’s let series creator Neil Cross put it out there: ‘Now what? It’s a question Idris and I get asked a lot. What happened to John Luther after we last saw him striding unbowed through the streets of his city, his blood red London? It can’t be over, can it? There’s so much we don’t know. So much unfinished business…

Now what? Luther’s coming back. That’s what.’

Filming will commence early next year.

Broadchurch Returns For Final Season With Sexual Assault Case!

Broadchurch: Season 3 – Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) and Detective Inspector Alec Hardy (David Tennant) – Photos courtesy of BBC America

It’s been three years since the last time we visited Broadchurch. Both Detective Inspector Alec Hardy and Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller are back on the team at Broadchruch CID after some hopefully recuperative time away when a local woman is sexually assaulted.

Evidence suggests this was not an opportunistic attack; it was planned.

DI Hardy and DS Miller must catch the person responsible or there could well be more such attacks.

Emoji Monsters Invade Doctor Who!

Doctor Who – Peter Capaldi as The Doctor, Pearl Mackie as Bill and an Emojibot – Photo courtesy of BBC America

Emojis are taking over the world, figuratively speaking. Everywhere you look, people are communicating more and more through those little emotional icons on their smartphones/computers.

It was only a matter of time before they played a key role on an episode of Doctor Who – and this is the week!

The second episode of Season Ten finds The Doctor and Pearl in a beautiful on a distant planet – with cute little robots that communicate solely by emoji. It is not a utopia.

Doctor Who runs on BBC America on Saturdays (9/8C), followed by its surprisingly much darker young adult spinoff, Class.

Doctor Who: Steven Moffat Teases Season, New Companion and Begins The Long Goodbye!

The man behind the last several season of Doctor Who is hanging up his sonic screwdriver – not that he’ll be less busy, with another franchise (Sherlock) to take up with if he can find the time.

As his time on Doctor Who comes to a close, Moffat gets to introsuce a new companion and bring back one of The Doctor’s earliest and most deadly classic foes – the Mondrasian Cybermen.

In the following interview, Moffat reflects on his time on the show; talks about what made Pearl Mackie perfect for Bill, and how much fun it’s been working with Peter Capaldi,.

Doctor Who returns to BBC America on Saturday, April 15th (9/8C).

Doctor Who: Matt Lucas Talks Nardole’s Development, The New Companion and More!

Doctor Who S10 – Episode: 1 – Nardole (MATT LUCAS) – (C) BBC – Photographer: Simon Ridgway

As a companion to The Doctor, Matt Lucas’ Nardole is only slightly less new than Bill Potts.

Nardole is something of a cipher – hiding the fact that he’s not entirely dim (he can fly the TARDIS, people!) behind the alien equivalent of an ‘aw, shucks’ demeanor, he is quite capable of keeping The Doctor from isolating himself post-tragedy (see: The Husbands of River Song), and turning high drama to perfect silliness (or vice-versa) with a single line.

In the following interview, Lucas holds forth on the new season of Doctor Who, The Doctor’s new companion, Bill Potts, and more.

Doctor Who returns to BBC America on Saturday, April 15th.
