BBC America Greenlights Series Based on Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Novels!

BBC America has greenlit a ‘punk rock thriller’ series based on the City Watch subset of Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels.

The Watch is a disruptive, character-driven thriller that centers on Sir Terry’s misfit cops as they fight to save a ramshackle city of normalized wrongness, from both the past and future in a perilous quest.

BBC America will air Snatches: Moment’s from Women’s Lives – eight short films inspired by women who have spoken out.

The eight films star Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter), Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor), Romola Garai (The Hour) and more.

Snatches: Moment’s from Women’s Lives premieres on Sunday, November 4th (9/8C). The trailer and taglines from all eight short films follow.

Doctor Who: Rosa – One Person Can Change the Universe!

Rosa opens in Montgomery, Alabama in 1943, as Rosa Parks tries to catch a late bus – resulting in humiliation and even the loss of her bus fare. Cut to twelve years later, Mrs. Parks sitting on a bench eating her lunch – and the TARDIS appearing in an alley just around the corner.

The Doctor discovers that there are traces of Altron energy – the same energy that powers the TARDIS.

Who Grew – By 48%!

The eleventh season premiere of Doctor Who – introducing Jodie Whittaker as the thirteenth Doctor – produced ratings 48% higher than the previous season premiere in Nielsen live/same day ratings.

Whittaker’s Doctor also produced nearly unanimous praise from critics.

BBC America Announces Doctor Who’s Global Premiere Date and Times!

The global premiere of BBC America’s Doctor Who on Sunday, October 7th, will now be simulcasting coast-to-coast at 1:45pm ET/10:45am PT on the network. That evening, BBC America will air a special encore at 8pm ET/PT with bonus interviews with Jodie Whittaker and footage from New York Comic Con. For the run of the season, the series will premiere regularly at 8pm ET/PT on Sundays.

BBC AMERICA BRINGS DOCTOR WHO TO NEW YORK COMIC CON 2018 FOR GLOBAL PREMIERE ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7TH!

Doctor Who will have its global premiere on Sunday, October 7th (1:45/12:45C) in a simulcast that will be shown at New York Comic Con 2018 – followed by a panel with star Jodie Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.

The season premiere, The Woman Who Fell To Earth, will air on BBC America at 8/7C (with bonus interviews with Jodie Whittaker and footage from New York Comic Con),the show’s new regular timeslot.
