The exclusive curtain-raiser for the seven-part Blue Planet II features a Hans Zimmer and Radiohead musical collaboration, titled (ocean) bloom, which is a fusion of Planet Earth: Blue Planet II’s main theme with a reimagined version of Bloom, a song Thom Yorke was prophetically inspired to write having watched 2001’s The Blue Planet.
It debuted today during the World Premiere of Planet Earth: Blue Planet II in London – a five-minute prequel for the landmark series has become the BBC’s first ever natural history global simulcast.
Blue Planet II will premiere in early 2018.

BBC America’s new thriller, Killing Eve, has added Fiona Shaw, David Haig, Kim Bodnia, Darren Boyd, Sean Delaney, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Owen McDonnell to the cast and begun production in Europe.
Based on the ‘Villanelle’ novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve follows two fiercely intelligent women – a psychopathic assassin and the woman charged with hunting her down.
Killing Eve stars Jodie Comer (the assassin) and Sandra Oh (the hunter) – and will premiere on BBC America in 2018.

While the BBC was making history by naming the first female Doctor, the current showrunner was heading a trip to San Diego Comic-Con 2017 – where he presented the first teaser for the 2017 Doctor Who Christmas Special, Twice Upon a Time.
The teaser reunites the Doctor with Bill Potts and features a unique event with the first and twelfth Doctors teaming up.
Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time will premiere on December 25th, of course.

On Sunday, July 23rd, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and Doctor Who invade Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con for a two-hour block of panels.
The Dirk Gently panel will mark the show’s Hall H debut, while the Doctor Who panel will be Peter Capaldi’s last as The Doctor.
San Diego Comic-Con 2017 takes place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, during the weekend of July 19 – July 23.
