The original ‘kick ass babe’ and leading lady of action films, Pam Grier is back as Amanda Waller AKA Checkmate and Smallville has her–or does she have them? Guess we’ll have to tune to know for sure which way it is.
One thing I do know for sure right now is that we have some great sneak peek stills from Smallville S9.16 to share with EclipseMagazine readers thanks to the wonderful publicity people over at the CW Network.
When Tess (Cassidy Freeman) creates an elaborate hoax in order to kidnap Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), and delivers him to Amanda Waller (Pam Grier), she tells him that that the government is recruiting him to serve his country.
However, Green Arrow escapes before his identity is revealed. After Oliver brings Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) up to speed, the three investigate the situation and Clark is surprised to learn that John Jones AKA Martian Manhunter (guest star Phil Morris) is investigating Oliver’s kidnapping as well.
However Clark senses that John is keeping information from him. Oliver and Clark are also shocked when Tess reveals that Amanda is after something called “Watchtower.”
When Clark confronts Waller, she threatens to kill Chloe unless Clark gives her the names and locations of the rest of the Justice League.
Smallville S9.16 Checkmate, which was directed by Tim Scanlan and written by John Chisholm, airs on the CW Network this Friday April 9th at 8PM EST.
