Television: Reaper Season 2 Offers Up Devilish New Twists

Reaper, the CW hit serio-comedy about a young man named Sam Oliver who finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born is heading into its second season on the CW Network on Tuesday March 3rd at 8PM EST.

As the second season of Reaper gears up, things are really heating up for Sam (Brett Harrrison, who continues to make his character a likeable guy you want to root for) who  last season discovered he may actually be the son of the Devil (Ray Wise, who continues to play this role with just the right amount of flair coupled with an undercurrent of dangerous) and not just another mortal with his soul indebted. Yet for Sam the biggest dilemma is should he tell his girlfriend Andi (Missy Perergrym, who keeps her character believable with the right mix of down to earth beauty and intelligence) any of this and will she be willing to deal with the ‘devil in the details’ of all these new complications in Sam’s life.

REAPER

Reaper begins its second season by hitting the ground running with an episode title that pays homage to Star Wars. In ‘Episode IV: A New Hope’, Sam returns from his trip with ‘Sock’ (Tyler Labine, who consistently brings a fresh take to what could be a run of the mill stereotyped sidekick) and Ben (Rick Gonzalez, who like Labine, rises above the stereotype to make his character fun and endearing ) to find out that getting groomed to take over the ‘family business’ can be hell as the Devil turns up the pressure and charges Sam with the task of rounding up forty vicious and brutally dangerous escaped souls.  While trying to figure out how to do this without getting killed, Sam also has to deal with the fallout of how his attempt to escape his life last season has affected his relationship with Andi.

REAPER

As if all of this wasn’t enough of a complication for Sam, this very first episode of the new season of Reaper also gives him a chance encounter with an elusive soul (Sean Patrick Thomas) who claims to have gotten out his own deal with the Devil.

The second season of Reaper begins airing on the CW Network on Tuesday, March 3rd at 8PM EST.  Check out the promo for what looks to be an exciting new season of this hit CW series.
