After Dark Shadows missed the mark by so much, it’s a relief to be able to say that Frankenweenie is vintage Tim Burton.

Frankenweenie–It’s Alive! It’s Alive!
While the trailers for Frankenweenie have been terrific, and all the press releases for it have noted that it’s a very personal project for Tim Burton, I think it will take seeing this making of featurette to really drive home how important the film is to him. Various cast and crew – including Martin Landau, […]
Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie Gets First Full-Length Trailer!
Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie isn’t the first instance of someone remaking his own work (in this instance, a live-action short Burton did in his short time at disney when he was just starting out) and it won’ be the last. It will probably be the strangest – as the film’s first full –length trailer suggests.

MOVIE REVIEW: Burton’s Alice Is A Small W Wonder!
Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland are such a natural combination that it’s a wonder that he hasn’t tried to make an Alice film years ago. Now that he has, it’s likely that it will draw mixed reviews because everyone has a different idea of what a Burton Alice would look like – not too […]
DVD REVIEW: The Nightmare Before Christmas – 2-Disc Collector’s Edition
Tim Burton is a genius. That’s been made apparent by films like Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood, among others. He might not have directed The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it comes from his story and all the major design work, a goodly chunk of the song lyrics and the story are his […]
