ABC Announces Thankgiving-Themed Programming!

ABC comedies and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving comprise the network’s Thanksgiving programming for 2017.

Holiday-themed comedies include: The Middle, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family and American Housewife.

The Chew and General Hospital will also feature holiday-themed episodes. Details follow.

Speechless Is So Good It Almost Left Me… Well, It’s Pretty Great!

SPEECHLESS - "Pilot" - Maya DiMeo moves her family to a new, upscale school district when she finds the perfect situation for her eldest son, JJ, who has cerebral palsy. While JJ and daughter Dylan are thrilled with the move, middle son Ray is frustrated by the family's tendencies to constantly move, since he feels his needs are second to JJ Soon, Maya realizes it is not the right situation for JJ and attempts to uproot the family again. But JJ connects with Kenneth, the school's groundskeeper, and asks him to step in as a his caregiver, and Ray manages to convince Maya to give the school another chance, on the series premiere "Speechless" WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. The premise for the series premiere of Speechless (ABC, Wednesdays, 8:30/7:30C) is simple: an alpha mom seeks a cool school and voice for her wheelchair bound son who suffers from cerebral palsy – to the frequent consternation of the rest of her family.

It is not a show about a kid with a disability; it not a show about the wheelchair. It is a show about a family that has a child with cerebral palsy and the way they all deal with each other – though sometimes the focus in on the voiceless boy in the chair because sometimes it would be in life.

ABC Comedy Speechless Premiere To Stream On Facebook!

The series premiere of ABC’s new comedy series Speechless will stream on Facebook beginning on Monday, September 19th – before it premieres on ABC on Wednesday, September 21st (8:30/7:30).

Beginning today, fans on Facebook can expect to see a special shout-out from the cast, welcoming them to this exclusive digital event.

ABC’s 2016-17 Primetime Schedule

ABC’s 2016-17 Primetime Schedule reveals a number of changes big and small.

Fan favorite Castle is gone, by Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell’s Conviction moves into its Monday night timeslot. American Housewife slides into the Tuesday slot between The Goldbergs and Modern Family, while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. moves back an hour into the 10 pm slot.

On Wednesday, potential top flight sitcom Speechless takes the slot between The Middle and Fresh of the Boat, while Designated Survivor gets Nashville’s old slot. Notorious becomes the first non-Shondaland Thursday show moving into the Scandal spot (Scandal having been moved to med-season) between Grey’s anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder.

Friday and Sunday stand pat. New comedies waiting in the wings are:  Downward Dog and Imaginary Mary. New dramas are: Still Star-Crossed and Time After Time. Follow the jump for ABC’s Fall Schedule and series descriptions.
