The new trailer for Columbia’s Flatliners uses a breathy electronic score to emphasize the creepiness that ensues after five medical students submit to controlled clinical death to explore whatever might follow dying.

“The Vampire Diaries”, developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, is based on a series of books written by L. J. Smith. The supernatural themed series takes viewers into the life of 17 year old Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) who falls for a 162-year-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Their relationship between mortal girl and her vampire boyfriend becomes increasingly complicated as Stefan’s older brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who is also a vampire, returns. Stefan has cold hearted plans to wreak havoc on the town of Mystic Falls and revenge against his younger brother.
The Vampire Diaries is now in its third season which premieres on the CW Network on September 15th at 8 PM EST.
The CW Network hit series, The Vampire Diaries had it’s season 2 premiere, The Return, on Thursday September 9th at 8PM EST. According to the next day press release, the series is still going strong with the VAMPIRE DIARIES delivering its best ‘Women 18-34 Ratings ‘ since February 2009 and held onto virtually all of its audience from explosive season one finale, Founder’s Day. The Vampire Diaries also retained a large chunk of its massive series premiere audience from last year, keeping about 87% of its year ago adults 18-34 (1.9/6) and 90% of its year ago women 18-34 (2.8/9) delivery.

The Vampire Diaries season one premiered on The CW Network on September 10, 2009 as the new lead in series for the Thursday night line up, which included veteran hit series Supernatural. The Vampire Diaries, which was based on the L.J. Smith novels of the same name, is set in the small town of Mystic Falls. There, teenager Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and her younger brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), struggle to come to terms with the recent death of their parents. While Jeremy heads on a downward slide of drug use to run away from the grief, Elena attempts to remain a perfect straight-A student but has trouble hiding her grief from the world. When the mysterious Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) becomes a new student at her high school, Elena finds herself draw to him not knowing that both he and his older brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) share the dark secret of Vampirism.
STEFAN IS FORCED TO MAKE A FRIGHTENING DECISION — When Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) make a dangerous new enemy, Stefan suddenly finds himself in a perilous situation. Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev) try to convince Alaric (Matt Davis) to work with them to help Stefan. Matt (Zach Roerig) is hopeful that his mom, Kelly (guest star Melinda Clarke), may be back to stay. After her car breaks down in a storm, Caroline (Candice Accola) make a horrific discovery that shocks everyone in town. Steven R. McQueen also stars. Dennis Smith directed the episode with teleplay by Julie Plec and story by Brian Young.

The CW Network is giddy as a school girl over the success of their freshman series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.
In a recent press release of DVR =7 results, the CW announced that The Vampire Diaries had soared to 100% year-to-year growth in The CW’s target demographic, women 18-34, with a 2.6/8, good for a second place ranking in the time period. VAMPIRE also wooed more female teens than any other show on broadcast last night with a 2.8/11, an absolutely batty 155% increase from the time period a year ago. Additionally TVD grew 20% year-to-year in adults 18-34 with a 1.8/6 and 69% in women 18-49 with a 2.2/6. The show also equaled its bloody good total viewer number from a week ago of 3.5M. The episode, titled “You’re Undead To Me,” was mighty fine, btw.

The CW has released a new set of sneak peek promotional stills of “The Vampire Diaries” in front of the show’s presentation at San Diego Comic Con Saturday, July 25. The Vampire Diaries” will be having a press panel held at Room 6Bcf from 6 to 7 P.M. Lead actors Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, and executive producer Kevin Williamson will be in the panel to answer press questions about the new CW series.
The Vampire Diaries” is based on the books written by L.J. Smith and is scheduled to be premiered on September 10 as the lead-in to the CW hit series Supernatural, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles and is now in it’s 5th season.
