Canadian Trekkers no longer have to worry about having to use more dubious methods to watch CBS Access’ new Star Trek series.

Bell Media has acquired the rights to air the series – and all 727 episodes of Trek series past – in Canada. The new series will air day and date with the U.S, broadcasts and in the same format – the premiere will air on CTV, the country’s most watched network, with subsequent episodes airing on Bell’s cable stations Space and Z (French) and then later on its streaming VOD service, CraveTV.

CBS Access Scores The Good Wife Spin-Off!


Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo will reprise their roles on a spin-off of CBS’ recently concluded legal drama The Good Wife.

The premiere will be written by The Good Wife creators Roberet and Michelle King – but they will not run the series.

Roddenberry Added To Star Trek Team!


A Roddenberry will give CBS Access’ Star Trek reboot a direct link to The Great Bird of the Galaxy. The son of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry (above, with Rod) and Roddenberry Entertainment President Rod Roddenberry has joined the Star Trek team as an executive producer – along with his company’s COO Trevor Roth.

‘Gene Roddenberry, the Great Bird of the Galaxy, left a finely feathered nest for all who love Star Trek to enjoy,’ said Bryan Fuller, Executive Producer. ‘And it is only fitting that Rod Roddenberry and Roddenberry Entertainment join our new Trek adventure to ensure that his father’s legacy of hope for the future and infinite diversity in infinite combinations runs through our tales as Gene Roddenberry intended.’
