The second season finale of Gotham – Wrath of the Villains: Transference – flirts heavily with going off the rails, but hangs on to provide a potentially catastrophic cliffhanger in which none of the usual suspects are actually at risk.
Oh, no. This time it’s Gotham as a whole that’s in trouble.
When Gotham (FOX, Mondays, 9/8C) went on its winter hiatus, things were looking grim – Alfred in hospital; the possibility of a hit put out on Bruce Wayne, Barbara seeing Jim Gordon kissing Dr. Leslie Thompkins…
Now FOX has released a teaser for the remainder of Gotham’s debut season and, no surprise, things are looking grimmer than ever. Check it out after the jump.
The Mentalist (CBS, Sundays, 9/8C) returns with Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon now a couple – though they’re keeping that on the down low at work. Not that they’re fooling anybody – except, possibly, Cho…
FOX has ordered the final six episodes to give its new hit series Gotham a full season.
The story of Gotham between the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne and the advent of The Batman stars Ben McKenzie as rookie police detective James Gordon – possibly the last good cop in the corrupt Gotham Police Department, David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne and Donal Logue as Gordon’s potentially salvageable partner, Harvey Bullock.
Gotham was created by Bruno Heller. Follow the jump for more. The next new episode of Gotham airs tonight at 8/7C.
I recently had the opportunity to take part in a conference call Q&A with Bruno Heller, creator of FOX’s new series Gotham (Mondays, 8/7C) – or I should say, got to call in. It’s a sign of just how much this series is being anticipated that I called in forty minutes early, punched in the appropriate code to queue up to ask a question and then never actually got to ask it (by way of comparison, usually if you call in twenty-to-twenty-five minutes early you not only have a good shot at getting your question asked, you have a shot at being the first in line).
FOX’s Gotham is one of the most anticipated new shows the Fall 2014 season. It’s the story of James Gordon’s rise through the ranks of the Gotham Police Department during the time between the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne and the appearance of Batman.
To get the details right and make this darker, fictional version of New York city believable takes a lot of work, and a four-part online series of behind the scenes videos gives us an idea of how hard everyone involved is working to to it right. Check out the series after the jump. Gotham premieres on FOX on Monday, September 22 (8/7C).
The second season premiere of The Mentalist [CBS, Thursdays, 10/9C] gets to a quick start when CIB consultant Patrick Jane [Simon Baker] solves a murder in a department store in a matter of minutes. That the murderer causes a quarter of a million dollars in damages when he tries to flee – and the Sacramento Police file a complaint – but it’s all the same to Jane, who’s been as Agent Lisbon [Robin Tunney] pits it, running hot ever since he and Lisbon’s team narrowly missed capturing Red John [the serial killer who slew Jane’s wife and child to teach him a lesson] in the first season finale.
