CBS is tweaking its summer schedule – moving BrainDead to Sundays at 10/9C. As well, Scorpion airs at 9/8C on Mondays – leading into CBS news coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions – before switching to 10/9C, effective August 1st.

Tony Shalhoub – three-time winner of the Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Adrian Monk on the long-running USA Network hit Monk – has joined the cast of CBS’ upcoming summer comic-thriller, BrainDead.
Shalhoub will play Red Wheatus, a fun-loving, hard-drinking Republican senator with twenty years of deal-making experience who undergoes a radical ideological transformation.
BrainDead comes from The Good Wife creators, Robert and Michell King. It is set to premiere this summer. For further details, follow the jump.
CBS’ summer series BrainDead has added Tony Award-winning actress Nikki M. James to its cast. James will play a medical resident whose father died from a mysterious infection that is plaguing DC in the comic-thriller.
BrainDead stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Tveit and comes from the creators of The Good Wife, Robert and Michelle King. For further details, follow the jump.
Graceland’s Aaron Tveit has been cast as the male lead in CBS’ upcoming summer series BrainDead. In the series, he will play a ‘Republican operative whose wit is only trumped by his pragmatism’ and will work with Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character to save the world from an insidious alien invasion in which the aliens have replaced top political leaders.

Amazon and CBS have announced a multi-year, multi-series content deal that will give Amazon Prime subscribers unlimited access to CBS summer series – including three new summer shows beginning with BrainDead, the comic thriller from the creators of The Good Wife that is planned for a Summer 2016 premiere. Prime subscribers will be able to access these shows – with no additional charge to their membership – just four days after its CBS premiere.
The new deal also extends and expands CBS and Showtime titles available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Follow the jump for further details.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast as the lead in CBS’ 2016 summer season Braindead. Created by The Good Wife’s Robert and Michelle King, Braindead is described as ‘a new comic-thriller set in the world of Washington, D.C. politics.’
Winstead will play a documentary filmmaker who is pulled back into the family business when her brother, the senate majority whip, needs her to help run his senate office.
The creators of The Good Wife, Robert and Michelle King, have sold a comedy-thriller call BrainDead to CBS. The network has ordered BrainDead stright-to-series with a 13-episode order.
“BrainDead” follows a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer getting her first job in Washington, D.C. and discovering two things: 1. The government has stopped working, and 2. alien spawn have come to earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers. Think The Strain meets The West Wing.
BrainDead is slated to premiere in 2016. The Kings will continue to oversee The Good Wife in the meantime. For further details, follow the jump.
