BOOM!Studios (2 Guns, Suicide Risk) has announced a new program to spotlight the work of some of the industry’s biggest names – and the work they’ve done on BOOM! titles. First up is Day Men: Pen & Ink #1 which will focus on the Brian Stelfreeze are from Day Men 1 and 2.
The limited line of publications will be a saddle-stitched, oversized 11” x 17’’ which allows readers to see the art at near-original size. Each page will be accompanied by annotations from the creative team, giving fans and aspiring creators unique insight into the creative process. Each edition in the Pen & Ink series will retail at $9.99. Day Men: Pen & Ink #1 will be in stores early in 2014. for more details, check out the press release following the jump.

BOOM! Studios announced today that the company has come to an agreement with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products to produce a comic book series based on the FX hit Sons of Anarchy. The first issue will be on sale in September, 2013.

BOOM! Studios, one of the top publishers of comics and graphic novels – and two-time winner of Diamond Comics Distributors’ Best Publisher Award – has acquired niche comics publisher Archaia Entertainment. The deal gives BOOM! the largest independent company-controlled comic book and graphic novel library, behind only industry titans DC Entertainment (Warner Bros.) and Marvel Entertainment (Disney)
The move brings a substantial library of critically acclaimed titles into the BOOM! archive, including Royden Lepp’s graphic novel Rust – which, along with Archaia titles Lucid, Bolivar and Feeding Ground, has been optioned for feature film development. Okay, sometimes a concept just makes you laugh out loud – then scares the pants off you. That was my reaction to the press release for BOOM! Studios’ 6-Gun Gorilla. It definitely sounds like my kind of weirdness.

During the 2010 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition comics fans can stop by booth #235 to meet with Michael Alan Nelson, the writer behind the acclaimed BOOM! Studio’s 28 DAYS LATER comic series and Keith R.A. DeCandido, writer of BOOM!’s Sci-Fi smash hit FARSCAPE comic series. Both will be signing daily through the duration of the ALA event.
The 2010 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition will be held at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, D.C. 20001.
CBGB was the legendary New York club that broke such acts as The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads and Television – to name a few. BOOM! Studios and CBGB Holdings will release a sneak preview of the CBGB comic book mini-series at the SXSW CBGB Stories panel hosted by Seymour Stein, president and chairman of Sire Records. The first issue, with a Jaime Hernandez [Love & rockets] cover, will hit the shelves in July. During the CBGB Stories panel, a limited edition, original CBGB single page comic by Jesse Blaze Snider (DEADPOOL, TOY STORY) and Eisner Award-winner Chuck BB (BLACK METAL) will be passed out to the audience and press.
