One of the greatest oddball action movies of all time is getting a four-color take: John Carpenter and Eric Powell have created an on-going Big Trouble In Little China series for BOOM! Studios. The boisterous Jack Burton will tackle new adventures beginning in June.
The whole point of the movie was to create a John Wayne-like would-be hero who would actually be the sidekick to his Asian buddy. How will the macho-but-inept Burton survive on his own? I will looking forward to see how Powell (The Goon) and Brian Churilla(The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun) work this premise – especially since the all-new adventures of Jack Burton begin with a stowaway on his big rig, the Pork Chop Express. Check out alternate covers, series description and ordering information after the jump.

If you think being an outcast is hard, think how much harder it must be to be a monster. Monsters have always been with us, living in the secret city of Midian. That’s the premise of Clive Barker’s novella and movie called Nightbreed. Now writer Mark Andreyko (Manhunter) and artist Piotr Kowalski (Marvel Knights: Hulk) are bringing Clive Barker’s Nightbreed to BOOM! Studios.
The series will present new stories featuring the characters from Barker’s work that will stand on their own – you won’t even have to be familiar with the movie, or the novella it’s based on, to enjoy the comic. Clive Barker’s Nightbreed #1 will be released on May 28th. A more in-depth series description and ordering information lie in wait for you after the jump.

Superhero comics don’t often examine the line between vigilante hero and villain in any depth, but when they do they can be captivating. BOOM! Studios’ new series, Translucid, exists to do that, which immediately makes it intriguing.
The Horse has been The Navigator’s arch-enemy for years, but when he sees The Navigator beginning to drift from his moral compass, he decides that’s not fun and begins to explore The Navigator’s hidden past. The series is by the team of Claudio Sanchex and Chondra Echert who have previously done critically acclaimed titles Kill Audio and Key of Z for BOOM! Studios.
