Kal Penn (House, MD) will be hosting a unique new competition special coming to FOX in the new year.

Superhuman is a two-hour special in which twelve ordinary people will exhibit their superhuman abilities for a shot at a $100,000 grand prize. Each contestant possesses a unique extraordinary ability, such as memory, hearing, tasting, touch,smell or sight.

Joining host Penn will be judges boxer/entertainer Mike Tyson, actor/comedian Mary Lynn Rajskub and neurosurgeon Dr. Rahul Jandial.

Get ready to have your mind blown when SUPERHUMAN, the new two-hour special hosted by actor Kal Penn, premieres Monday, Jan. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The jaw-dropping special will test the abilities of 12 ordinary people to use their extraordinary skills to win a $100,000 grand prize. Each of the contestants possesses a distinct, nearly super-human ability in fields such as memory, hearing, taste, touch, smell and sight. The contestants will be challenged to push their skills to the limit to determine if they are SUPERHUMAN enough to win the $100,000.

Penn, along with a guest panel that includes iconic boxer and entertainer Mike Tyson, actress/ comedian Mary Lynn Rajskub and neurosurgeon Dr. Rahul Jandial, will provide insights and comedic commentary about the competitors’ unique abilities, while guiding the studio audience, who ultimately will decide which mental mastermind takes home the title of SUPERHUMAN and the $100,000 grand prize.

Originally produced by Endemol Shine Germany (series 6), the extraordinary competition format has been a breakout hit in China (series 3), Italy (series 2), Brazil (series 2), Spain and, most recently, France (series 3), where the premiere delivered top ratings for the network. Following the success in Germany and Spain, the networks launched a kids’ version of the popular format. The U.S. marks the seventh territory where the format will launch, and further global interest is picking up.
