BOOM! Studios and comiXology Announce Digital-Exclusive ‘Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular’
BOOM! Studios’ all-ages imprint KaBOOM! and comiXology are excited to announce the digital-only title Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular, part of the platform’s new comiXology Originals program that also includes titles from Valiant Entertainment and Harvey Kurtzman.
Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular contains three all-new original stories centered on Marshall Lee, the gender-swapped version of Marceline the Vampire Queen. The character first appeared in “Adventure Time’s” “Fionna and Cake” episode on Cartoon Network.
The first story features New York Times bestselling writer Mariko Tamaki (Skim, Supergirl) with artist Audrey Mok (Josie and the Pussycats), followed by stories teaming up writer Melanie Gillman (As the Crow Flies) with artist Trungles (Fresh Romance), and writer S.M. Vidaurri (Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Witches) with artist Mildred Louis (Agents of the Realm). All three stories can be found behind a fully painted cover by Fábio Moon (Daytripper). A release date is to be announced, but fans can pre-order the single-issue one-shot now for $3.99 on comiXology and Kindle.
Launched in February 2012, KaBOOM!’s award-winning Adventure Time comics are based on the hit Cartoon Network original series. From the mind of series creator Pendleton Ward and produced by Cartoon Network Studios, Adventure Time follows the unlikely heroes Finn and Jake, best buddies who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants—and always find themselves in the middle of heart-pounding escapades. To date, KaBOOM! has published over 50 issues of the main Adventure Time comic series, eight original graphic novels, several spin-off limited series, and recently launched a new ongoing series called Adventure Time Comics. This is the imprint’s first digital-exclusive title.
