Right Now…

…Van Halen is putting on a tour. Unbelievable these guys are still rocking. They were cranking out some pretty serious music when I was in high school about 20 years ago. Would be interesting to see what kind of show they are turning out today.

“The Notebook”

“The Notebook” is a flashback love story to the 40’s. Rather slow-paced, it tells of the high school summer romance between a couple from different social strata which is recorded in a notebook. There are a few surprises along the way. Schmaltzy with good performances and sexual situations. GRADE = “B”

Dead Zone

Gaming on the Go: V-Rally 3

Now imagine my joy when I can take a 3-D racer on the go with me. Atari’s V-Rally 3 isn’t perfect but its pretty darn good for the hardware its running […]

The Tony Awards

Caught the early portion of the Tony’s Sunday night. I had no idea Hugh Jackman was hosting. Hardly recognized him without his mutton chops. Some good entertainment here, including Billy Joel as one of the first presenters. Was glad to Phylicia Rashad win for RAISIN IN THE SUN and equally happy for WICKED, a Wizard […]

“Garfield – the movie”

“Garfield – the movie” is basically for children under 12. It has CGP (computer generated plot) – consider yourself warned. The animated star with the voice of Bill Murray and the real dog playing Odie are watchable, but not much else is. GRADES = “A” for target audience; “C” for others
