Music to ‘Ride’ by

Very few professional sports can claim they launched a music genre. But skateboarding – and the culture surrounding skaters – definitely spawned a bevy of musical artists that forever are associated with the sport.

Which is why it’s important that the highly anticipated Tony Hawk: RIDE video game, which is due to hit North American retail shelves on November 17, gets its music right. By the looks of the recently released track list, RIDE creators at Robomondo are skating down the right path. The game boasts more than 50 eclectic tracks from such artists as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT and Green Day to new rising artists Band of Skulls and The Temper Trap. The game also goes old school from time to time with tracks by The Commodores, The Meters, The Stooges and The Replacements.
