Let’s face it, I’m a land lover, and never understood the fascination with the beach, surfing or the surf culture. The new documentary “”Riding Giants”” has changed my mind. Stacey Peralta’s new surfing documentary “”Riding Giants”” shows the excitement of the sport, tells amazing stories, and contains images that really gives the sport a certain gravitas that it always seem to lack – at least in my mind. I walked away from the experience having a new found respect and understanding of big wave riding and the people who do it.
Every now and then, there are interviews that I go into, not expecting to get much out of them, but then are pleasantly surprised with how much chemistry there is in the room, and just how much that I myself learn from doing them. My recent interview with “”Riding Giant’s”” director Stacey Peralta, and the surfing legends in the documentary; Sam George, Jeff Clark, and Greg Noll was just such an interview.
