Why is it that according to Hollywood only New Yorkers get to fall in love? In Hitch we have yet another Romantic Comedy about hapless losers looking to find love in the big bad city of New York City. But how can these people be losers when they have high priced jobs, great expensive apartments, and nice cars? If you have all of that, you’d think they would be able to buy themselves some lovin. That’s where Alex ‘Hitch’ Hitchens (Will Smith) the love doctor comes in.
In “”Hitch”” Will Smith is a love consultant. Helpless losers come to him for help on how to woo the women of their dreams. He doesn’t tell his clients to lie, exactly, what he does is open the window of “”opportunity”” for his clients to make contact. According to Hitch most women won’t give a nice guy the time of day, so it’s his job help them pave the way. When the film opens we see Hitch in action, he helps one nerd start a conversation with his dream girl by having his client save her dog, he tutors another guy on how to act on a first date, etc
