Michelle Goes “”Bowling For Columbine.””

Who would have thunk it? That there would come a day when I would be able to use the phrase “”The Oscar Winning Gadfly?”” Well today’s the day I get to use that phrase, “”The Oscar Winning Gadfly,”” Michael Moore’s documentary “”Bowling For Columbine is now available on DVD. Before we go any further I will state up front that I’m a proud bleeding heart liberal.

Love him or hate him, Moore is the type of person who garners a strong reaction with whatever project he works on. I happen to like Michael Moore, even though I do think he’s fairly pompous. I like the fact that there is someone (at least one person) out there who isn’t afraid to stick to his unpopular opinions, despite possible backlash. The fact that I agree with 99 percent of what he says, is another reason why I like him. It’s nice to see people speak up and give voice to what I think on these kinds of issues.Other celebrities who do it, I admire them when they first do it, but they loose my respect when they start backing away the minute they get criticized or it starts affecting their pocket books (ala, Johnny Depp, Dixie Chicks, etc). If you are going to go out on a limb and be critical, then dammit stick to your guns, most celebrities would get more respect if they did that, as opposed to running tail and hiding the minute people start boycotting your products. When you do that, then you tick EVERYONE off. Moore is someone who doesn’t back down. The minute he does start backtracking he will lose his audience. MOVIEIn “”Bowling for Columbine,”” Moore takes on Charlton Heston, the NRA, and America’s love of guns. While this is an important issue, “”Bowling for Columbine,”” seems tired, old, and clich
