You know Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, but do you know the DJ responsible for breaking them on the radio? It’s none other than award winning DJ, producer, digital media pioneer and entrapreneur Scott Keeney aka DJ Skee! DJ Skee took time to chat with Eclipse Magazine during the April 2 launch party in LA and discuss the premiere of his show Skee TV tonight on April 9 at 10:30pm/9:30c on Fuse TV!
Scott Keeney aka DJ Skee started his career in entertainment by creating mixtapes at the age of 15. He then made his radio debut in a Minneapolis radio station at 16 years old until he moved to Los Angeles in 2001. He joined KIIS-FM and iHeart Radio from 2008 to August 2014. In August 19, 2014, he launched Dash Radio, the world’s largest all original digital radio network with over 60 stations He is known for being the first DJ to discover and play rising artists Lady Gaga, Justin Biever, Kendric Lamar, Akon, and Lord to name a few.
DJ Skee also adds entrepreneur to his name. He was behind the marketing campaign for the popular T-Mobile Sidekick in the mid 2000s, Daimer Chrysler, and Google’s Android Platform, and more. He opened two stores in Los Angeles which offers the latest sneakers of the season. He was named one of Billboard Magazine’s influential “Power Players: 30 Under 30” in the August 21, 2010 issue and an honorable mention Forbes magazine’s influential “Power Players: 30 Under 30]” in 2012.
DJ Skee is a man with a heart. Despite his accomplishments, he doesn’t forget to be an active part of his community. He is involved with various charities, including After School All Stars, Sports Spectacular, Music Unites, Grammy University, and the United Nations Foundations. He encourages others to succeed in all aspects of life.
Of course, DJ Skee is not one to slow down as he continues to make waves in the entertainment business. He now brings us Skee TV which will be featuring the hottest and upcoming artists in music. The show will be set in the backdrop of The Los Angeles Film School in the heart of Hollywood. Preshow, musical guests will be treated to the famous Calm Before The Storm cocktail (Vodka, cucumber, water, mint, lime juice and agave) which is said to not only bring on calmness, but tastes great. Then in front of a live audience, DJ Skee will interview celebrity guests and host live musical performances. The show is part of Fuse TV’s push for programs that are sexy, edgy, relevant, and honest.

The beauty of SKEE TV is its’ goal of bringing in not just established musical guests on the show, but talented newcomers. It just takes a venue or person to help take one step to the next level of one’s music career. Obviously this helped Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. With DJ Skee’s eye for up and coming trends, it will be interesting to watch the continual rise of these musical artists.
