FX Announces Premiere of FX Movie Download

Tonight, FX premieres FX Movie Download (8/7C). Hosted by Sasha Perl-Raver and Adam Gertler, the series takes us inside the movies – beginning with Iron Man 2. The network describes the show as providing ‘the best part of DVD extras’ but with ‘exclusive material not always on DVD.’

FX ANNOUNCES PREMIERE OF “FX MOVIE DOWNLOAD”

Premieres Tonight, January 10, 8:00pm ET/PT with an encore presentation immediately following

LOS ANGELES, January 10, 2014 – FX has revamped its enhanced movie viewing experience franchise DVD On TV, and will re-launch it as  FX Movie Download  tonight, January 10, with Iron Man 2.

FX Movie Download takes audiences through immersive bonus features while providing smart and insightful perspective on today’s biggest blockbuster films. Interviews with the filmmakers, insider anecdotes, and answers to questions like ‘how did they do that?’ make FX Movie Download the place where movie lovers get their ultimate fix.  The series delivers the best parts of DVD extras and adds exclusive material not always available on the DVD.

Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks said “FX Movie Download allows viewers to experience Hollywood’s biggest hit movies from the inside out. This series is a natural extension of the FX Has the Movies brand and acknowledges consumers’ greater adoption of enhanced viewing experiences.”

FX Movie Download is hosted by Sasha Perl-Raver, previously a movie reviewer for KNBC, and Adam Gertler, a food & film enthusiast.  Since graduating from USC’s esteemed Critical Studies Program where Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) became her mentor—Sasha Perl-Raver has appeared on and written for outlets including E!, PBS, TV Guide Channel, Fox News, LOGO, and Style Network. Her celebrity interviews, film reviews and entertainment reports were seen from 2010-2013 on NBC’s Los Angeles affiliate, KNBC. She has also contributed to Fandango, AOL, Hollywood.com and MovieWeb.com while interviewing celebrities ranging from Meryl Streep and Robert Redford to Snoop Dogg.

The consummate movie fan, Adam Gertler is passionate and can speak with authority on three subjects; Movies, Food and Comic Books. In 2008, He appeared on Food Network’s popular show, The Next Food Network Star.  Adam was tapped to host his own show, Will Work For Food.  In 2010, Adam hosted Kid In A Candy Store, also on Food Network. Adam has recently channeled his passion for encased meats into a business “Gertler’s Wurst”, a brand of uniquely flavored sausages are available at select Costco stores and are sold exclusively at Dog Haüs restaurants.

18 new episodes of FX Movie Download will be scheduled from January through June, 2014. FX Movie Download leverages and reinforces the FX movie acquisition strategy while utilizing the network’s unprecedented library of movie titles.
