End of the Road, again, for Unforgettable

Unforgettable

For a while it seemed like Unforgettable was the series that couldn’t be forgotten (sorry, this pun sort of writes itself when talking about this show!) But it looks like this is the end of the road for the police procedural starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh, featuring a detective with an autobiographical memory which allows her to remember every detail of everything she sees. Unforgettable is no stranger to cancellations. The series first aired on CBS in 2012 and received its first cancellation notice after its first season. CBS then revived it as a summer series for its second and third seasons, after which it received its second cancellation notice in 2014. Miraculously, the series was then picked up by A&E to continue for a fourth season. But it looks like viewers forgot to tune in this time around and another cancellation has been handed down, with the series airing its final episode January 22. Unfortunately, it appears that things were left on a cliffhanger, so this joins the long list of shows which disappear with no resolution for their dedicated audiences. [side note: “shame on you producers” for not playing it safe and closing the season in a better manner for the fans, considering the show’s rocky history of survival]
