On this episode of GeekScholars Movie News, presented by Eclipse Magazine, we finish up with last installment of our four-part series regarding the 2012 Academy Award nominations, where we get some lively discussion regarding the more technical awards- best sound mixing, best sound editing, best makeup, best costumes, and best visual effects.
After that, we discuss our thoughts on a bio-pic called The Butler about Eugene Allen, a man who served in the White House for 34 years. We’ve heard rumblings that Guillermo Del Toro may want to do his own version of Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson as his heroine, so we muse about what that might look like. We then wrap up our headlines talking about Michael Fassbender’s potential next flick about a mythological Irish warrior.
Our trailer of the week, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter got Lauren especially excited, so you’ll have to hear what we all thought of it. Then finally Fox gives his take on This Means War, which he loved far more than his fellow critics.
