While the other networks are trying different strategies for their fall 2012 schedules, CBS is going the other way. With the exception of Survivor – which opens with a ninety-minute premiere on September 19th – all of CBS’ shows will premiere the week of September 24th.
The only major program shifts will be moving Two and a Half Men to Thursdays and The Mentalist to Sunday nights, following The Good Wife. Its place on Thursday nights will be taken by CBS’ new Sherlock Holmes series, Elementary. Vegas fills the vacancy left by Unforgettable, following NCIS: Los Angeles; A gifted Man’s Friday night slot is filled by Made in Jersey, and Partners moves into Two and a Half Men’s slot on Mondays.

I can’t tell you how happy I am to see that one of my
primetime shows will continue. I wasn’t happy to hear Unforgettable got
cancelled and I would have to find something else. I record this show as part
of my PrimeTime Anytime events, and now I have the option to watch all my
primetime recordings commercial free. I feel like I watch commercials more than
my favorite shows. I use the Auto Hop feature to skip them which will enhance
my TV experience. It’s only available to use the day after the primetime shows
air, but since I watch my shows a day after, this works perfect. One of my
coworkers at Dish showed me how Auto Hop works and how it gives me the option
to watch commercials or not. I won’t have to change the batteries in my remote
as often with this new feature.
