Part of the appeal of the first two “”Scary Movie”” films was the comedic style of the Wayans brothers who directed and wrote them. In the sequel, much of this style can be found as a new director, David Zucker (“”Airplane!””, “”Naked Gun””), adds some of the ingredients that made his previous films so successful. While this blending of styles often leads to some great laughs, it just as often leads to missed opportunities.
In this installment of the series, we find television reporter Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) investigating the connection between a deadly video, crop circles, and enigmatic prophecies. Her journey is met by a constant barrage of sight gags, innuendo, and pokes at popular culture.
