We’re getting to the end, finally! Tonight one more IDOL hopeful goes home (me thinks Casey James) and then it’s the Top 3 who will travel to their hometowns for a heroes welcome. Also coming up on tonight’s show, Daughtry featuring former IDOL hopeful, Chris Daughtry, and Fantasia. And then some rock band named Bon Jovi. Kidding! Kidding! Okay, on to the results show. Quit reading now if you don’t want to know what happened!
The show opens up with a live performance from Fantasia. Thank God, no group performance. Although, I will say Fantasia is dressed like she should be on the Captain’s Deck of Star Trek. What is up with that jacket? She aso has a Justin Beiber haircut. I kid you not. She sounds good though.
Fantasia tells Ryan that she has a new album coming out this summer and it’s pure soul.
After the break, we see another Ford music video. Does anyone actually like these besides Ford???
Ryan then shows us a taped piece with former IDOL contestants going home since the Top 3 will be headed to their home towns.
Ryan then starts a Q&A with the Top 4. Michael says he is looking forward to playing with his puppy in St. Petersburgh, FL. Crystal wants to play a gig with her bass player at the places she loves. Lee says he wants to be one of those people in the video to go to his home town. Casey says he wants to smell Texas air and hearing a bunch of people say “ya’ll” would be nice.
Ryan then shows us the families of the Top 4 sitting on the stage waiting for the results. All four stand up.
Casey James is the first to be told that he is SAFE! Damn, wrong again.
After the break, Daughtry performs. Chris Daughtry’s voice is so freakin’ good. There is just this unique quality to it. When you hear him on the radio, there is no doubt who it is.
After the break, it’s time for more results. Ryan stretches it out as always. But…Lee DeWyze is safe… That brings us down to Crystal Bowersox and Michael Lynche. Now here is something to keep in mind, this is the same point of the competition when Chris Daughtry, who was also a front runner to win like Crystal, exited the show. Hmmmmmm.
After the break, Bon Jovi performs “Superman Tonight.” An okay song, but I am not a Bon Jovi fan.
Now…the results. Who is going home? Mike or Crystal? Ryan plays up the drama by calling it “an intense moment on the stage.” But he finally reveals the person going home is… Michael Lynche. Not a surprise, really. He should have gone weeks ago.
Next week… the Top 3 go home and visit their home towns. They’ll each perform a song picked by the judges and then a song of their own choosing. That’s assuming IDOL follows tradition. We shall see!!! Until next week…
