It’s another results night and tonight, once again, someone goes homes. I think it’s Casey James after his horrible performance last night, but I am never right. Although, tonight I might be. In any case, this week’s mentor and music arranger, Harry Connick, Jr., will perform tonight as will chart topper Lady Gaga. I can only imagine what her performance will be like. Hopefully the boring IDOLS will get inspired. Enough chatter, on with the show.
Once again, the horrible group number. The only thing good about it is that all of the IDOLS are dressed in suits including Crystal Bowersox who looks amazing in a man’s suit. 🙂 But the Sinatra musical numbers are just so so…
Ryan tells us next week’s theme is “Songs of the Cinema” with mentor Jamie Foxx (who ironically is rumored to be the choice to replace Simon Cowel next season).
Now we see the Ford music video and then a taped piece on how busy the IDOL’s Tuesdays are. Yada, yada, yada…who’s going home? Ryan then starts questioning the IDOLS with random questions and finally gets to results.
He asks Lee DeWyze to stand up and walk to the center of the stage and then they kill more time with Q&A with the judges. We are 17 minutes and have accomplished nothing. Ugh! Finally, Ryan announces that Lee is safe.
Lady Gaga now performs her new song “Alejandro.” What a stupid song!
Up next, we’re treated to a very funny taped piece featuring Harry Connick, Jr. working with the IDOLS. He’s a riot. It really showed his personality. Then to kill more time, Harry came out and sang, “I Love Her,” another great Sinatra song.
And when that was song over, the IDOLS sang a medley of Harry Connick, Jr. songs. My God these people know how to stretch out a show.
The Harry Connick, Jr. tells a Frank Sinatra story and talks about his upcoming dates on Broadway. Ugh!!!
9:44pm and we go to commercial.
Finally, we get to the results. Crystal Bowersox is instructed to start a group on the far side of the stage.
Michael Lynche is asked to stand on the near side of the stage.
Aaron Kelly is asked to join Big Mike.
Casey James is asked to join Crystal Bowersox.
Ryan then asks Lee to pick the safe group. He refuses. Ryan then reveals Mike and Aaron are NOT safe. Casey and Crystal are safe. My record of wrongness is intact because I thought Casey was going home.
A quick commercial break and then the final results. Ryan reveals the person going home is Aaron Kelly. Aaawwww. I liked Aaron.
That’s it for this week. The Top 4 compete next week with songs from the movies and the help of Jamie Foxx. Until then…
